My Rockstar Romance Series, Less Than Zero is complete with my 8th book,
TIMELESS: Encore. In honor of one of my favorite tropes:
10 Reasons why Rockstar Romance Has Everything You Want in A Romance Books
and MORE!

  1. Rockstars are forceful, dark and broody – the intensity of the relationship between
the rockstar and their love interest is angsty, sexual, broody, savage – delicious.
  2. Billionaires in suits are great, but they are a dime a dozen, amiright? Rockstars
are like unicorns – they have private jets and a billionaire lifestyle, and there’s
something incredibly sexy about the confidence and charisma of a rockstar. Suit
billionaires only WISH they were rockstar billionaires.
  3. Rockstars create music, and music adds an extra layer of emotion to any story.
Plus the dynamic between the rockstar and the musicians he/she plays with
creates an amazing “found family” element to the narrative.
  4. Rockstars have unique challenges because they live their life on the road. I enjoy
the behind-the-scenes look at the rockstar lifestyle and the real-life dynamic
between the loneliness, separation and hero-worship the musicians face on a
    day to day basis.
  5. Rockstars encompass so many tropes. Probably because the power dynamics
between the rockstar and their love interest can be intriguing and captivating.
From enemies-to-lovers to best-friends-to lovers to accidental pregnancy to
forced proximity – the options for conflict and passion are Endless (see what I did
    there).
  6. Rockstars have personal demons – from addiction to navigating fame to the
pressure of performing and being in the public eye give the characters so much
depth and ability for character growth.
  7. Rockstar Romance is also a fantasy. To me, there’s nothing more electric than
when the elusive rockstar—who can have anyone they want—finds the person
who will bring them their HEA. The fantasy element of being swept away by a
famous musician is exciting and romantic
  8. Rockstars are strong but also sensitive and are more in touch with their
emotions. I’m turned off by heroes who are emotionally closed off and also by
heroes who are too nice. Rockstars are the perfect balance, and I appreciate the
way the trope often explores themes of trust, loyalty, and sacrifice.
  9. Rockstars are gorgeous. It goes without saying, and everyone wants a good-
looking hero or heroine in their romance novel.
  10. Rockstars are real people. Outside of everything else, rockstars are also ordinary
people living extraordinary lives. For me, nothing makes me swoon more than a
happy ending where the rockstar and their love interest find a way to make their
relationship work despite the obstacles is always satisfying.
